The low whistle is the lower version of the Irish tin whistle. It is tuned to D, an octave lower.
The low pitch gives the flute a very warm, pleasantly mellow sound.
The flute is easy to finger and easy to play over 2 octaves.
In this model by Dixon, the mouthpiece is made of plastic, the body is made of aluminium. As a two-piece flute, it is therefore tunable.
